On the 16th of March CTK student Isabella Yeomans competed in Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Acro Cup in the 12-18 women’s pair division against many other countries such as Israel, Germany, Estonia, America and many more. She came fourth place overall, missing the bronze by only 0.4 marks! Read her story...
My experience at the Las Vegas Acro Cup—Acrobatic Gymnastics Competition
On the 16th of March my family and I arrived in Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Acro Cup. Throughout the week myself and my acro partner trained and went to see different performances. My partner and I competed in the 12-18 women’s pair division with many other countries such as Israel, Germany, Estonia, America and many more. Over the two days my partner and I competed we performed two very strong routines which placed us in the top six, meaning that we made it to the finals.
The next day we competed, performing our third and final routine and after scoring we came fourth place overall missing the bronze by only 0.4 marks. We were presented with a ribbon each and we were extremely proud to be representing not only our club but Australia in another country.
It was a great learning experience and will help my aspiration to represent Australia again in the world championships in 2020. The next day we flew out to San Francisco, we went sightseeing and saw many amazing sites including Alcatraz Island, the Golden Gate Bridge and houses and sets from different movies including the house from Mrs Doubtfire, the house from The Princess Diaries and places such as Lombard St. It was an amazing and fun trip which I will never forget.

Burning off the waffles cream and berries (berries seemed to be optional for most) before our last 2 activities. Had a great night last night with schnitzel for dinner and trivia. There were lots of tired bodies last night. They should all sleep well tonight. See you all this afternoon!

Another fun filled day. Archery, orienteering, abseiling, initiatives, catapults, soccer, tennis, basketball, and games room fun. All this was fuelled by hamburgers for lunch, cookies and fruit for morning tea and afternoon tea, and lollies. We are about to shower, and settle in for chicken schnitzel and a trivia competition. Looking forward to tomorrows fun

We had a great day today. Lots of fun participating in orienteering, Archery, rock climbing, and catapult building. We finished the day with beef nachos, churros with ice cream, and camp games. Really looking forward to tomorrow
