π§βοΈ Year 4βs Ice Challenge! βοΈπ§ Today our amazing Year 4 scientists π§ͺπ§ took on the Ice Challenge as part of our Science unit on heat energy π₯ and states of matter π§βοΈ! We started with a big question: Why does ice float? π§ Students observed ice cubes floating in water and shared their thoughts π¬. Then came the fun part β the melting challenge! Who could melt their ice cube the fastest using only the warmth of their hands? ποΈπ₯Άπ₯ There were chilly hands π§€, lots of laughter π, and fantastic thinking π€― as students discovered that heat energy causes ice to change state from solid to liquid! π‘ They even worked together in teams π€ to draw what happens to particles in solids and liquids π§β‘οΈπ¦. So proud of our curious, clever and collaborative learners! ππ

CTK prays for Pope Francis In his 2023 address to the young people of the world at World Youth Day, Pope Francis told them to βCarry on; if you fall, get back up; walk with a goal in mind, and train each day of your lives. Nothing is free in life, everything has to be paid for. Only one thing is free: the love of Jesus! So, with this free gift that we have, and the desire to carry on the journey, let us walk in hope, let us be mindful of our roots, and move forward without fear. Do not be afraid.β

πΏ CTK Prepares for Easter with the Stations of the Cross βοΈποΈ Christ the King came together in faith and reflection to journey through the Stations of the Cross, a powerful devotion that recalls the final moments of Jesus' life. This year, we reflected on a deeply moving series of artworks by John Dunn, a member of the Stolen Generations. His interpretations of the Stations are a personal and spiritual journey that connect the sufferings of Christ with the experiences of Aboriginal people in Australia. π¨πΏ A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Year 5 students who led the prayer with reverence and maturity. ππ It was also so special to be joined by many of our CTK parents and grandparents β your presence made the experience even more meaningful.
