Term 3 has been lots of fun in Year 2 so far!
We are having a great time learning about persuasive texts. This week we are trying to convince someone that dogs are the best pet. We need to use strong, high modality language when trying to persuade someone of our point of view. Have a listen to some of our great work!
Who knew learning about ‘Area’ in maths could be so much fun! Year 2 are learning how to estimate, measure and record areas in square units. We have been working in groups on mini projects all about Area. We had to find who has feet with the largest area in Year 2. We were surprised that some children’s feet in Year 2 even have a larger area than the teachers. We also worked on creating creatures with a certain area for each part of their body. Here are some pictures and a video of all the fun we have had in Maths.

π¦ Kindy Zoo Excursion β Living Things π¨ Our Kindy students had a wonderful day exploring the zoo as part of their Science unit on Living Things! πΏπ Students had the opportunity to observe a variety of animals in their habitats and learn more about what living things need to survive and grow. They looked closely at how animals move, eat, live and interact with their environments. ππ Young Mary Comes to Life! ππ Today, our students were captivated by the inspiring performance of Young Mary, a play exploring the early life of St Mary MacKillop. Through storytelling students discovered how Mary's deep faith, courage and compassion shaped her life from a young age. They learnt about her determination to help those most in need and her unwavering trust in God, even when faced with challenges. The performance reminded us all that we can make a difference through kindness, perseverance and service to others, just as St Mary MacKillop did. Burning off the waffles cream and berries (berries seemed to be optional for most) before our last 2 activities. Had a great night last night with schnitzel for dinner and trivia. There were lots of tired bodies last night. They should all sleep well tonight. See you all this afternoon!
