Term 3 has been lots of fun in Year 2 so far!
We are having a great time learning about persuasive texts. This week we are trying to convince someone that dogs are the best pet. We need to use strong, high modality language when trying to persuade someone of our point of view. Have a listen to some of our great work!
Who knew learning about ‘Area’ in maths could be so much fun! Year 2 are learning how to estimate, measure and record areas in square units. We have been working in groups on mini projects all about Area. We had to find who has feet with the largest area in Year 2. We were surprised that some children’s feet in Year 2 even have a larger area than the teachers. We also worked on creating creatures with a certain area for each part of their body. Here are some pictures and a video of all the fun we have had in Maths.

βͺβ¨ποΈ FIAT Pilgrimage β Pilgrims of Hope ποΈβ¨βͺ Our FIAT students took part in a special pilgrimage to St Patrickβs Cathedral as part of the Jubilee Year β Pilgrims of Hope ππ. Each student was given a shell, the ancient symbol of a pilgrim, to remind them of their own spiritual journey of hope ππβ¨. A big thank you to Judith who gave us a tour of the old and new in the Cathedral, explaining the symbolism and beautiful art and workmanship.
