As we welcomed students back for the beginning of Term 2 our CTK community joined together to remember the servicemen and women who have bravely served our country. The whole school gathered in the church and representatives of each grade placed a poppy on the prayer focus.
As we reflected together as a community to commemorate ANZAC Day we were reminded of the importance of life, love and peace and of the sacrifice that many men and women make today to keep our country safe.
We ask that God continue to walk with them and their families and that as a nation we may follow in the words of Jesus to ‘love one another’.

πΏπΎ Year 1 Living Things Project πΎπΏ Year 1 have been learning all about living things and what they need to survive. Working alongside their wonderful Year 6 buddies, students designed and built a habitat for a living thing of their choice. Their habitats needed to include the essential elements for survival: shelter, food, air, and water. It was fantastic to see our students using their creativity, teamwork, and scientific understanding to bring their ideas to life. A big congratulations to Year 1 for their thoughtful designs and to our Year 6 buddies for their support and encouragement throughout the project. π Year 2 Showcase π Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Year 2 Showcase. We were so excited to share a snapshot of our learning this term. Our prayer songs have been at the heart of our daily classroom life, helping us to pray, show kindness, and remember that God is always with us. The students loved performing three of their favourites: Tickery Tock, God United, and My Lighthouse. We also shared our History learning, where we explored how communication has changed over time from the past to the many ways we connect today, including phones, emails, and video calls. Families also enjoyed viewing our creative clay sculptures, where students had the freedom to design and create their own unique artworks. βοΈπ CTK Family Winter Sleepout Challenge πβοΈ This July, we invite all Christ the King families to take part in our Family Winter Sleepout Challenge. π Spend some time together outside on a piece of cardboard in your backyard or on your balcony. π Pray for people experiencing homelessness. π₯£ Share a simple meal such as soup and bread. π Reflect on what it might be like to live without a safe place to sleep or regular meals. As part of our Religion and Sustainability learning, the Year 2 students created a picture of their ideal world. They imagined what the Earth would look like if everyone cared for God's creation by looking after the environment, helping others, and making responsible choices. Through their artwork, the students shared their hopes for a cleaner, kinder, and more sustainable world for future generations.
