Sport plays an important role in the lives of the children at Christ the King.
Sport at our school is about participation, teamwork, healthy lifestyle choices, skill development and, above all, fun.
All children are encouraged to become involved at a level with which they feel comfortable, and to extend this involvement to realise the potential harboured within each individual. Those children who exhibit particular talents in sport have access to representative sports at a number of levels, from school through to national.
We take part in all zone carnivals for Swimming, Cross-Country and Athletics. For these events, the children have the opportunity to represent at Zone, Diocesan and State levels.
Specialist Teacher & Sport Days
Our specialist physical education teacher undertakes skills lessons for all classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The children learn ball skills, the basics of athletics, and a variety of team sports.
Sports day is on Friday and children wear their sports uniforms on their nominated sports day and on Fridays.
Children are provided with a wide range of opportunities to develop skills and knowledge of games. Our children achieve success in a number of inter-school carnivals, including swimming, athletics, touch football, cross country, basketball and netball.
