On Monday 2 May 2016 the Rotary Club, North Rocks held their annual Mother’s Day awards to celebrate local mums in the community.
As part of the celebration, Year 5 students from Christ the King Primary, North Rocks and North Rocks Public School were invited to participate in a writing competition entitled “My Mother, My Friend”.
A panel narrowed the submissions down to six students who were then invited, along with their families, to attend a special Rotary Club celebration at the Baulkham Hills Sports Club.
Event organiser Monika Tracey said the annual Mother’s Day awards offered students an opportunity to engage in their writing skills whilst celebrating their mums.
‘Each child read their story or poem to their mum, who was then presented with flowers, chocolates and a bottle of champagne, while the child was presented with a certificate,’ Monika said. ‘Dads and siblings joined us to make this an excellent night.’

🧠✨ Da Vinci Decathlon ✨🧠 Students from Year 6 – Kamil, Zac, Abby, Tom, Eloise, Lola and Oliver, along with Eliana from Year 5, had a wonderful day of challenge and competition at the Da Vinci Decathlon hosted by Santa Sophia Catholic School. 🙏✨ Last Thursday our Year 6 students attended the ENCOUNTER formation event at John XXIII Catholic College.
