Christ the King Perform with Pride in Cricket Gala Day

On the 28th August, Christ the King competed in our first Cricket Gala Day for many years.

60 students attended the action filled day at Binalong Park. With all seven teams competing in three or four matches on the day, it was important all students listened and followed instructions for a busy and entertaining day. It was great to see so many students attempting, playing and enjoying for some, a new sport! Whilst the teams did find some of the opposition more difficult than others they all competed with great sportsmanship and enjoyed the opportunity to have a hit and run around.

We were privileged to have two Cricket NSW players, Kurtis Patterson and Baxter Holt, come along and speak to the students during the day offering advice and hints. This was a new experience for the majority. Hopefully some of the students can take this up as a new sport this coming summer.

We would like to thank Mrs Trofa, Mrs Cook, Mr Sassen, Mr Brimicombe, Mrs Boumelhem, Mr Bertie, Mrs Kitson and Mr McBain for assisting the teams of the day as we couldn’t have done so without your help.
